How MyVA PH search works

We rank for fit first, then rotate fairly among people with similar relevance. No member can buy organic position.

What earns relevance

Services and the opening profile statement carry 30% of the score, project evidence 25%, tools 20%, industries 10%, schedule and rate context 10%, and clarity plus fresh availability 5%.

Evidence, not upload counts

The strongest matching public project supplies the project contribution. Repeating projects or uploading more files does not multiply it. Result cards link to the matching work and distinguish member descriptions from reviewed evidence.

What language matching means

We combine keywords, a maintained vocabulary of related tasks and tools, and explicit filters. This is rule-based matching, not AI reading every upload. Supported hiring phrases become visible requirement chips. Review those chips: ambiguous budgets are not applied, and unsupported instructions need explicit filters. You can refine with commands such as “only part-time” or “remove budget.” Optional related searches keep your filters; they never silently relax them. Exclusions check published phrases and known aliases, not proof that someone never uses a tool.

Private work stays private

Only published profile snapshots and public project text enter discovery. Optional text imports are reviewed locally before saving; files are not automatically analysed. Hidden work is removed from visible results even while an older ranking snapshot exists.

How new VAs get a chance

Paid client history is not required. Honest practice, training, volunteer, and transferable projects can satisfy the evidence requirement. Within a similar relevance band, people with less recent exposure move ahead; a new profile may also receive one exploration position when it belongs in that band.

What verification means

Badges name the exact check performed. Updating public content removes reviewed-work claims until an administrator reviews it again. Verification is not an endorsement or guarantee.

What we will measure

With analytics consent, the beta evaluates no-result searches, match explanations, exposure distribution, profile opens, project reads, and qualified reach-outs. Any material scoring change receives a new public version.
